Brookletts Place is a center for seniors to gather and socialize with each other. It provides an aspect of community engagement for individuals 60 or older through the Center’s facilities and various events throughout the year. As a place with an excellent reputation among its membership, Brookletts Place strives to continuously expand to provide even more for area seniors over and above its well-rounded menu of available services and resources.

As a vibrant and lively center, Brookletts Place is the prime location for community engagement in the senior population. Having an amazing facility and a wonderful staff, it is not an adult daycare or nursing home for seniors, rather it provides opportunities for socializing, recreational fun, lifelong learning opportunities, and camaraderie among senior-peers. The Center also provides a gateway for members to engage in various roles and carries a greater mission of serving a vulnerable part of the community.

There are nutritious lunches offered at noon from Monday-Thursday at no charge for seniors age 60 and over, although a minimum contribution of $2.75 is suggested for all meals. Brookletts Place also runs a “Meals on Wheels” program that delivers lunch to homebound seniors three times a week.

The facility is environmentally-sensitive with a state-of-the-art green roof with native plants and sitting area. Other amenities include a yoga room, computer lab with Internet access, exercise room, media room, large dining area, game room, roof terrace,
multi-purpose room, and more.

The Center also offers multiple classes year-round that are educational, recreational, and social in nature. As a non-profit organization, there is no fee to become a member; however, some classes require a minimal fee for the instructors and/or materials.

In addition to the activities and programs, Brookletts Place plans fundraising events throughout the year that are targeted towards seniors but welcomes any adult over the age of 21.

Brookletts Place is also a central resource center for area seniors offering programs such as Maryland Access Point (MAP), Maryland State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP), and Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP).
